You can apply for the DV 2025 to obtain a US visa or green card so that you can reside, study, or do business in the country. October 5, 2023, is when the application period opens, and it ends on November 6, 2023.

The Diversity Visa (DV) program was established by the Immigration Act of 1990 and commenced in 1995. Every year, a lottery is used to allocate 55,000 immigrant visas. Increasing the diversity of immigrants residing in the US is the main objective of this program. For the DV-2023, 55,000 visas are available.

These immigrant visas are distributed to the following six worldwide regions:

Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania; South America, Central America, and the Caribbean; and Africa.
There’s a window of opportunity to sign up for the DV lottery each year. The DV Lottery 2025 will begin on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 12:00 PM EDT (or 8:00 PM Afghanistan time). It ends on November 7, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. Afghanistan time, or 12 p.m. EDT.

Fortunately, starting with the Dv Program 2024 (application period October – November 2023), applicants are not need to have a passport and may apply without one. Either way, you need to have your passport ready in case you are selected to apply for a US visa.

How should an applicant apply?

You must complete and submit the following information in order to complete your application:

Name, last name, gender, date of birth, place and country of birth, phone number, email address, educational attainment, marital status, and, if relevant, information about your children.

The DS-5501, also referred to as the E-DV Entry Form, is an online application that can solely be filled out on the official DV lottery website.

It is strongly advised that you complete the admission form yourself, without the use of a “visa consultant,” “visa agent,” or other intermediary. When your entry is ready, you should be there if you need help so that you can accurately answer the questions, retain your unique confirmation number, and print the confirmation screen. You should always have your confirmation page printout and unique confirmation number handy. There are rumors that unscrupulous visa brokers may assist candidates with their applications, retain the printout of the confirmation page, and then demand extra money for the confirmation number. Without these details, you won’t be able to use the online system that informs you of your entrance status.

Take caution if someone promises to keep this information for you. You ought to have access to the email address listed in your E-DV record as well.

After submitting your entry or application form, you will receive a confirmation page that includes your name and a unique confirmation number. You should save this confirmation screen to your documentation.
