About Women and Youth Future Assist Organization:

WYFAO stands for Women and Youth Future Assist Organization, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Afghanistan. WYFAO’s mission is to empower women and youth through education, health, and livelihood programs. WYFAO works with local communities, government agencies, and international partners to address the needs and challenges of the most vulnerable groups in the country. WYFAO has implemented various projects in different provinces, such as Kabul, Herat, Khost, Paktia, Ghazni, Parwan and Paktika, focusing on areas such as community-based education, vocational training, gender equality, and peacebuilding. WYFAO believes that women and youth are the key agents of change and development in Afghanistan.

Job Description:

Job Summary: The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for the effective administration of all warehouse activities linked to WYFAO’s Education Project. This work entails supervising the receiving, storage, distribution, and inventory management of educational materials and supplies, as well as guaranteeing their timely and proper distribution to project locations.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

  1. Warehouse Management
  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient warehouse layout for easy access and retrieval.
  • Implement proper storage procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of educational materials.

 

  1. Inventory Control:
  • Create and keep an accurate inventory of all instructional items.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts on a regular basis and reconcile with system data.
  • Create and analyze inventory reports to detect inconsistencies and remedial actions.

 

  1. Distribution and Dispatch:
  • Coordinate with project staff to determine material needs and distribution schedules.
  • Ensure timely dispatch of materials to project sites while maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitor transportation arrangements and liaise with logistics team for timely deliveries.

 

  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the received materials meet project standards.
  • Report and document any damaged or defective items and coordinate with suppliers for replacements.
  1.  Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all warehouse transactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, distribution, and any relevant issues.
  • Provide reports as required by project management and donors.

Job Requirements:

Experience/ Education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office.

 

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari; strong knowledge of English is highly required.
