Job Description:

Specific Responsibilities for Extenders:

Under the guidance of UNICEF Child Protection Specialists and Zonal CPOs and in coordination with CP different entities including extenders, the provincial social workers will be responsible for:

• Case Management for Individual Children and their Families to those children who have experienced or are at risk of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

• Assessment, case planning, implementation of the case plan, follow-up and review, case closure as outlined in the Standard Operation Procedures.

• Provide psychosocial support and emotional support to children and families throughout the case management process.

• Conduct safe referrals to essential services as appropriate, and follow-up to ensure services provided were responsive to the needs identified within the assessment.

• Actively engage in all capacity-building opportunities, including formal training and capacity assessments.

• Participate in regular case management meetings with the case management team.

• Support identification, registration, family reunification, and reintegration of Unaccompanied Minor and Separated Children (UASC) and Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups (CAFAAG)

• Support implementation of the Mental Health and Psychosocial support program including supervision of CFSs, Psychosocial Social Counsellors activity of Mobile Health and Nutrition Team, provision of Phycological First Aid (PFA) to the victims and witnesses of critical emergencies and referral of critical cases of mental health disorders for specialized care

• Support mitigation, prevention, and response to GBV cases including awareness-raising, victim response, and coordination of GBV program.

• Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of children and caregivers, partners activities, support to partner staffs, preparation of reports, meeting minutes, and report to the supervisors.

• To collaborate with other child protection colleagues and key stakeholders to regularly report trends and advocate for vulnerable children.

• Close coordination, support to other extenders, social workers of different sections of UNICEF, and regular interaction with district extenders and social workers

• Proper coordination with CPAN, CPAoR members, stakeholders, and other community structures.

• Any other relevant duty assigned to him/her by the supervisor

 

Job Requirements:

Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Law, social science, or another relevant technical field 2 year of experience.
Language Requirements:

Ability to read, write and speak local languages and English well.
Skills: 
1. Skills in documenting activities (writing short articles, activity reports, taking pictures…)

2. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a result-oriented manner under demanding working conditions, often with short deadlines.
