Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
How can you make a difference?
Since late 2021, UNICEF Afghanistan Country Office (ACO) has received significant funding from International Financial Institutions (IFIs), namely the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Given contextual circumstances, this scale of funding is anticipated to continue in the coming years in a challenging environment where political complexities and human rights violations will likely remain the reality. The bulk of funding received from WB and ADB has primarily been for Health and Education. However, it is an important source of funding for Nutrition, WASH in facilities, cross-cutting programmatic priorities such as Gender and PSEA as well as program support/operations costs.
