Job Description:
Objectives
Enhancing Community Engagement and Social Behavior Change for Improved Health
and Well-being of mothers and children.
To strengthen the commitment and capacity of local stakeholders, and foster
community participation, the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Officer or Social
Mobilizer aims to successfully execute a comprehensive program. This program seeks
to integrate and implement SBC interventions, ensuring active community
involvement in adopting life-saving behaviors. By conducting targeted training,
building local capacity, and facilitating community-level strategies, the objective is
to establish a sustainable framework that supports positive health outcomes and
promotes accountability to affected populations.
Responsibilities
– Conduct training sessions on community engagement, feedback collection, and AAP
interventions.
– Organize round table discussions for community-based platforms.
– Conduct community-level mapping exercises in each district, engaging local
influencers.
– Organize and oversee community-level dialogues and discussions based on localized
approaches.
– Conduct social listening exercises and community dialogue sessions.
– Coordinate the referral of cases from communities to essential services, including
ANC and PNC visits, severe malnutrition cases, and missed immunizations.
– Track and report on the referral metrics, aiming for specific targets in each district.
– Engage with families, particularly pregnant and lactating women, in face-to-face
interactive discussions.
Station:
– Badghis province, Ghormach and Ak-kamari districts
– Zabul province, Daychopan and Kakar districts
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Social Work, Communication,
Community Development, or a related discipline.
Experience:
3+ years of proven experience in as social mobilizer, and in community engagement
activities.
Language:
– Pashtu is a must
– English is an asset
Qualifications:
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Proven ability to conduct training sessions for diverse audiences, including
community influencers, and other stakeholders.
– Ability to engage effectively with community members, local influencers, and
partner organizations.
– Cultural competence and sensitivity, with an understanding of the local context
and the ability to work effectively in diverse communities.
– Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and
data management tools.
– Proficiency in the local language is required.
