Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. is a German Christian non-governmental organisation, dedicated to excellence in the field of first aid, ambulance service, social service programmes and other projects in the medical and social field. The Federal Headquarters (HQ) is based in Berlin, Germany.

Johanniter International Assistance is the operational unit for humanitarian aid, development cooperation and emergency relief, implementing and supporting projects in Health, Nutrition, WASH, Food Security & Income Generation worldwide. (www.thejohanniter.org)

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Manager the Safeguarding Officer will be responsible in supporting implementing partners of Johanniter in the implementation of gender and protection mainstreaming activities in all stages of program implementation. She/he will directly assist the Manager Program Development and Partnerships and the Program Manager – Health in ensuring that gender and protection issues are efficiently address during program planning, targeting of beneficiaries, provision of services, monitoring and Reporting.

• University degree in Psychology/ Sociology/ Social Science Courses or equivalent qualifying experience relevant to safeguarding
• Certified training in safeguarding, protection, or gender
• Post-graduate qualification in an area suitable to safeguarding
