Job Summary

Responsible for defining preventive maintenance procedures for all GSM sites’ power, generators, and cooling systems including Hub sites, Main office/ GSM sites, and AWCC sub-contracts. Ensure that all staff is properly trained in both preventative maintenance and repair procedures and is done as per requirement. The principal task will be to supply uninterrupted power to GSM telecommunications equipment for all GSM sites including the main hub.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all DGs and air-cons for GSM sites and HUB sites and other electrical equipment (UPS, Back UPs, Panels, DB boxes, etc.).
  • Oversee and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all critical power systems (AC & DC), and make, and record the reports.
  • Need to be involved in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing Transformer, AMF panel, Distribution board, UPS, Rectifier, Battery bank, and other electrical equipment installed at GSM sites/ hub sites.
  • Maintenance of different types of power outlets, grounding, and lights for GSM sites/ hub sites power system.
  • Ability and proper preparation in non-security situations especially for important sites like BB and Hubs.
  • Check, request, and control the necessary materials for preventive maintenance and keep spars in stock for emergency statutes.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance for the total power system of MSCs / Telecom Hub sites and keep records as well.
  • Oversee and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all normal and emergency power systems (AC & DC).
  • Manage and control all important sites for backup capacity and upgrade, check the loads on sites, control and if necessary, upgrade them to higher capacity, and report to headquarters.
  • Fuel management.
  • Ability to follow safety systems during work time with Generators, Air-cons, power systems, load equipment, and all core networks and tools.
  • Should be ready to support, supervise, and manage 24/7 as needed for the smooth operation of the core network power system under his responsibilities area.
  • Ability to manage the team for troubleshooting and maintenance of the sites.
  • Follow the site issues and tickets and confirm the MNOC for the restoration, isolation, and check for cleaning of any alarm.
  • Capability and abilities for controlling and managing any problems in bad situations and non-security areas including the safety of staff and company capital.
  • Good behavior and ability to work with the team and other staff, and control and manage the team to work together as team workers.
  • Have the initiative idea to find solutions for problems and manage his team.
  • Ability to use test equipment to test generator critical power systems including UPS systems, batteries, grounding systems, isolated power, ground-fault circuits/outlets, and other load conditions.
  • Should be able to work with AC power systems up to 440V and DC power systems up to 48V.
  • Follow the installation of new equipment and improve it in terms of work and troubleshooting in all technical fields (Generators- power equipment, etc.)
  • A sound understanding of critical power systems (400VAV, 220VAC, 110VAC) UPS, Generators, transformers, rectifiers, AMF panels and Distribution panels, Battery banks (48VDC), air-cons etc.
  • Must have good work habits and be able to work with other Engineers, technicians, management staff, and all staff working under his supervision.
  • Find some good solutions for the expanses of the company to decrease them like following and processing the city power or solar system instead of DG in his region if it was available.
  • Try to better manage and control to reduce the expenses of the company in his field by using usable parts that are removed or upgraded in other sites.
  • Try to manage troubleshooting of any technical equipment with fewer expanses, like fixing or repairing locally.

Training and capacity building:

  • Be able to give necessary training for all power / air-cons / mechanic staff belonging to his region.
  • Be ready at any time for any training plan for the team to improve the staff.
  • Try to understand and improve his technical and mechanical knowledge of generator alternator, transformer, AMF panel, distribution board, and other electrical equipment.
  • Make plans for training the staff who are under his supervision especially guard mechanics, Technicians, and other staff.
  • To be interested in joining any technical training or non-technical workshops to improve his knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical from an authorized University with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a Telecom service provider.
  • Deal with high demands, workloads, and emergencies.
  • Willing to do the work under pressure and prolonged time.
  • Agreed to travel to all the regions.
  • Be able to travel to the job site to visit the sites and solve the problems.
  • Ability to manage the team in a hard situation and control it.
  • Work on shifts/nights according to a shift schedule and execute CRQ if required.
