Background Information:
The Medical Management and Research Courses Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and humanitarian organization, established on 2008 in the Ministry of Economy and in 2022 has been registered in the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan, and is the implementer of health projects, HIV, malaria and TB in different provinces of the country.
MMRCA has been implementing the HIV Project (Scaling up HIV interventions among Key Affected Populations in Afghanistan) in Balkh and Kundoz provinces. Therefore, MMRCA is looking to recruit a qualified Outreach Worker in Kundoz province to provide the required HIV prevention-related services for the under PWIDs DIC in Kundoz province.
MMRCA invites and encourages eligible candidates to apply for the position of Outreach Worker under HIV Project located at PWIDs DIC in Kundoz Province.
Job Description:
Specific Responsibilities:
- Respect the internal MMRCA and MOPH rules and policies
- Performing full-time and night duty according to the schedule
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly action plans, equipped with outreach tools and their implementation in the field
- Promote an enabling environment, and facilitate safe and easy access for other teams and clients in PWIDs DIC level
- Provision of awareness and health education services for PWIDs clients regarding harm reduction and HIV prevention
- Providing Harm Reduction kits (needle, syringe, etc) for PWID clients and re-collecting the utilized needle, and syringe by targeted clients on a regular basis
- Provision of referral services from outreach area to OST center for MMT services etc
- Providing Harm Reduction and HIV/AIDs Services for PWIDs and other KAPs through PWIDs DIC and Outreach Activities
- Provision indicated Harm Reduction and HIV/AIDs Services based on signed project contract and achieving the indicated target
- Recording provided services throughout PWIDs DIC and Outreach
- To ensure excellent communication with the team and target group
- Follow infection and prevention procedures and waste management such as used needles, syringes, etc, and transfer them to PWIDs DIC and disable it through incinerator
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports
- Participation in all related training and transferring to other staff
- Participation in all official meetings, workshops, and events of harm reduction
- To identify and report immediately any problems that may interfere with achieving program objectives
- Perform any other related duty assigned by the line manager
Professional Competencies:
- Good Knowledge of fluently in Dari/Pashto and English languages
- Baccalaureate/ Bachelor
- One year of work experience in a related field
- Received Training about Harm Reduction, HIV/AIDs and Drug Addiction field etc
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good Computer Skills.
- Preference will be given to native resident
Job Requirements:
Baccalaureate/ Bachelor Degree.
Fluent in Dari and Pashtu and working Knowledge of English.
One year of work experience in Outreach Activity or Health Management field (HIV, Harm Reduction, Oral Substitution Therapy, etc.).
