Photographer’s Obligations
1. Follow UNESCO’s policies and procedures for visual communication, photographs, and videos.
2. Have UNESCO photo consent form(s) signed by those who are being photographed or interviewed.
3. Respect the privacy and dignity of the people being photographed or video recorded.
4. Document when and where the photographs and videos are captured.
Long Description
Deliverables and Timeline
1- Production (Pre/Post Production) of three videos(one minute each video) from the field showcasing UNESCO’s programme (10 November 2023);
2- Production (Pre/Post Production) of one 5-10 minutes documentary videos from the field showcasing UNESCO’s programme (10 November 2023);
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Degree/Certificate in photography, photojournalism, or any related field.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in documentary videography and photography.
- Experience of recording professional videos.
Language:
- Fluency in English and one of the national languages (Dari and/or Pashtu) is required (both written and spoken).
OTHER SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
1. Excellent understanding of frame and angles.
2. Experience of traveling outside Kabul for days and capturing photographs.
3. Proficient in using different types of cameras, lenses, and lighting setup to capture high quality images.
4. Able to capture images that convey emotion, context and meaning. Have a keen eye for details and be able to anticipate and capture vital moments.
5. Know the cultural sensitivity and be very cautious.
6. Able to communicate effectively with subjects to create a relaxed environment.
7. After capturing images, able to select best photographs and edit them accordingly.
CONDITION OF WORK AND APPLICATION PROCESS
UNESCO will not provide any equipment to the consultant. The consultant should use his/her own equipment. Use professional full frame digital single-lens reflex camera and lenses, preferably 5d Mark 3 for photography and Mark 4/C100/Sony Alpha with few lenses good in low light situations when filming. Use professional wide, normal and zoom lenses. The consultant should have a professional voice recorder that clearly and professionally captures sounds without noise.
