About Keenly Humaniterarin Assitance for New Afghanistan Organization (KHANA):

Keenly Humanitarian Assistance for New Afghanistan (KHANA) organization was established in 2018 under the registration number of 4319 Ministry of Economy. KHANA is a national, non-profit and non-governmental organization established to bring together human, financial and technical resources to address some of the challenges faced by the poorest and most marginalized communities in Afghanistan.  Special emphasis is placed on investing in human potential, expanding opportunity and improving the overall quality of life, especially for women, girls and children.

Job Description:

Responsibilities and particular assignments

  • Support the implementation of the MHPSS program and manage programmatic and technical staff so that the program objectives are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of MHPSS interventions as well as staff knowledge
  • Develop a plan for MHPSS counselor training, mentoring and supervision, PSCCs in charge to deliver specialized interventions that address common psychosocial responses to both long standing and acute trauma and abuse.  Deliver training sessions and maintain intensive follow-up/coaching to ensure skill development and application.
  • Deliver online capacity building training to the volunteers of the all centers in the targeted provinces
  • Identify, enroll and recruit female volunteers to run the “Women’s Business Psychosocial Counselling Center” in all target districts of targeted Provinces
  • Essential services for survivors of gender-based violence using ethical, survivors centered approaches provided through Women’s Business & Psychosocial Counselling Centers.
  • Lead and support PSS counselors and front-line staff with training reviews on PFA and other psychosocial interventions to ensure capacity of staff and community workers in the formed centers to recognize and respond appropriately to MHPSS needs.
  • Conduct group-based supervision sessions / case review meetings with PSS counselors on a regular basis and lead and support ongoing self-care sessions of centers in the districts.
  • Review existing monitoring tools to ensure PSS interventions are being carried out in compliance with international guidelines and best practices – incase not responsive, new tools to be developed and adapted to the context.
  • Coordinate with UN women Implementing partners and protection/GBV sub-cluster to strengthen existing referral mechanisms between KHANA service delivery points and other services providers.
  • Represent KHANA’s MHPSS services and modules to the donor for approval.
  • Develop customize MHPSS materials meet the need of village women/girls.
  • Any other task assigned by program director

Job Requirements:

  • Degree/Certificate in psychology.
  • Experience with public health and humanitarian emergency programs can be an asset
  • Having experience in psychosocial activities supervisory position.
  • Working knowledge of English is required
  • Knowledge of local areas and community structures and prior experience in working in community social/field works
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Good computer skills, particularly with Ms. Office Programs
