Job Description:
EPI Supervisor is responsible to maintain the health facilities with functional appropriate vaccination units in clinics and for outreach.
Responsibilities:
A- General
- Act according to the policy of SAF
- Keep confidential with issues related to SAF
- Develop Spirit of co-operation and understanding among members of the team
- Follows SAF’s established policies /SOPs, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative works/ performance.
B- Specific responsibilities
- Responsible for the EPI activities of the project
- Ensure that all supplies and vaccines are available in each health facility
- Supervise, evaluate and follow- up the activity and output of vaccinators in all health facilities and outreach activities.
- Ensure vaccination reports are prepared properly and submitted timely to sub office.
- Enter all EPI monthly reports in to DHIS2 on regular monthly bases before the deadline.
- Analyze performances of EPI P4P indicators including Penta3<1, TT2+ and measles<1, provide the charts and graphs and give feedback to the relevant HFs.
- Actively participate with PEMT and provincial office of UNICEF and district EPI teams to develop plans for EPI activities of the catchments areas including micro plan.
- Provide training courses to the vaccinators as well as conduct on the job trainings
- Coordinate with PEMT and UNICEF to ensure vaccines/supplies are delivered to the health facilities on time.
- To ensure a reliable cold chain is maintained in the main cold room as well as in the all HFs’
- Coordinate with the concerned agencies on EPI related issues including NIDs.
- Make sure that vaccinators maintain proper registration and documentation of EPI activities
- Do any other tasks assign by the supervisor.
Qualifications required:
- Post graduate from intermediate medical institute or the same entity
- At least three years of work experience as EPI officer/manager in BPHS/EPHS projects.
- Experience in conducting trainings and having communication skills is an asset.
- Computer knowledge and English language is advantageous.
