Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

The incumbent would undertake the following duties:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the project team in the selection of women entrepreneurs through a technical assessment based on the pre-set criteria of the project.
• Assist Entrepreneurship officer in Carrying out capacity assessment of women entrepreneurs and provide facilitation support to them for forming and strengthening women entrepreneur groups.
• Facilitate the process of providing business development services through hands-on and mentoring support to Women entrepreneurs.
• Support women entrepreneurs to establish joint women-led enterprises.
• Assist targeted women entrepreneurs to develop their business plans, improving their products’ quality and diversity, employing new techniques, increasing the number of employees, and expanding the market coverage of their products. To implement the business plan, need-based materials, equipment, and seed capital will be provided to each women’s enterprise, and technical instructions, mentoring, and monitoring support will be performed on a regular and ad hock basis.
• Facilitate the process of Forming and strengthening women entrepreneurs’ groups by working closely with the targeted households.
• Facilitate the process of need-based skill training for business development for the women entrepreneurs’ groups.
• Facilitate the process of Arranging training on production improvement and business management for women entrepreneurs.
• Facilitate the process of providing need-based materials, equipment, and capital to the selected women entrepreneurs for business promotion, participation in the exhibition, and any other relevant activities of the project.
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in BBA, Economics, Marketing, Enterprise Development, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field

Experience:

• 2 to 3 years overall experience in program/ project implementation, out of which at least one year of Proven experience in enterprise and entrepreneurship development, community mobilization, community-based entrepreneurship establishment, and development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Strong Communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and take on diverse tasks.
• Working experience in the targeted province (Bamyan) and familiarity with the concerned community, geography, and culture.
