Job Summary
The Data Center Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, ensuring alignment with TIA-942 standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
TIA-942 Compliance & Standardization:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance of TIA-942 standards within data center operations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with the latest TIA-942 standards across all four domains.
- Develop, update, and maintain documentation related to TIA-942 standards and policies.
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, ensuring alignment with TIA-942 standards.
- Collaborate with architectural, telecommunications, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure that all infrastructure components meet required standards.
- Ensure proper cooling, power, and networking setups to maintain optimal data center operations.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Coordinate with different departments (IT, Facilities, Security, etc.) to ensure seamless integration and operation of data center infrastructure.
- Act as the point of contact for TIA-942-related issues and guide standardization requirements.
- Work with procurement and project management teams to ensure that all new infrastructure projects adhere to TIA-942 standards.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor the performance of data center infrastructure and ensure adherence to established KPIs.
- Provide regular reports on TIA-942 compliance status and infrastructure performance to senior management.
- Recommend and implement improvements to optimize data center efficiency and compliance.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to data center operations and develop mitigation strategies in line with TIA-942 guidelines.
- Ensure all data center operations meet regulatory and safety requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center engineering.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including architecture, telecommunications, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining compliance with TIA-942 standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Certification in TIA-942 or related standards is highly desirable.
