The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) was established in 1947 with a mission to promote sustainable economic and social development in the Asia-Pacific region. Headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, ESCAP works with governments, civil society organizations, and private sector partners to address regional development challenges related to poverty reduction, social inequality, environmental sustainability, disaster resilience, and more. ESCAP provides technical assistance and advisory services, undertakes research and analysis, and serves as a platform for regional dialogue and cooperation. The organization comprises 53 member states and 9 associate members, representing over 4 billion people across the Asia-Pacific region.
