Job Summary
Senior Database Officer design, implement, maintain and repair an organist ion’s database.The role includes developing and designing the database strategy, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.They may also plan, co-ordinate and implement security measures to safeguard the database.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing and monitoring database.
- Data replication Backup and restoration of database.
- Carry out basic analysis of database logs and identify issues.
- Performing Day End Operations Perform activities for resolution of occurred issues.
- Create shell scripts for task automation.
- Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements.
- Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency.
- Monitor systems and platforms for availability.
- Install and test upgrades and patches.
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies.
- Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
- Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans.
- Working closely writer if project managers, database programmers and web developers.
- Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
- Provide 2417 support for critical situations.
- Having experience in Data guard and RAC configuration and implementation in Linux platform.
- Respond to alerts from all Oracle databases, development through production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Oracle backups.
- Work with Oracle Support to ensure successful resolution of Service Requests.
- Troubleshoot issues with of RAC (with ASM).
- Configuring and Administering Oracle 11g Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
- Experience in oracle snapshots and replication.
- Cloning development databases from PROD using RMAN
- Configuring and Scheduling RMAN Backups
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, Database Backup & recovery hands on experience using RMAN.
- Experience in Creating and cloning databases, refreshing schemas using Export/imp.
- Familiar with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM 12c and 13c).
- Familiar with Oracle Multitenant architecture (12c,18c and 19c).
- Familiar with Oracle Database vulnerabilities.
- Familiar with Solaris and Linux administration.
- SQL tuning.
- Creating views and tables for the reporting propose in both oracle databases and SQL server databases.
- Installation and configuration of OBIEE 10/11g and 12C.
- Report (Data model and template) and analysis creation in OBIEE 11g and 12C.
- OBIEE 11g migration from 11g to 12C.
- Other duties assigned by the manager.
Job Requirements
- University degree the field of Information Technology.
- At least 3 years’ experience of managing Oracle Database (preferably in a banking environment).
- Knowledge Oracle DB versions (Oracle 11g, 12c and 19c) is desirable, MS SQL or DB2. Knowledge of RAC will be an added advantage.
- Sun Solaris OS knowledge for a working database.
- Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Have an ability to.
- Understand data and how it will be used.
- At least Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).
