Job Overview:
The objective of the Logistics Coordinator is to assume responsibility for the daily supervision and execution of all logistical operations within the NRC North Area office. The incumbent will actively assist field-based logistics personnel in adhering to both NRC and donor regulations, as well as assume leadership in overseeing all logistical endeavors undertaken by the NRC North Area Office. Additionally, the position will involve providing technical line management to logistics staff based in the Kunduz, Maimana, and Sare-e-Pul field offices.

Generic Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the plan of action.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Take the lead in coordinating and overseeing all logistics activities conducted by the North Area Office
- Prepare reports on logistics activities, achievements, and challenges and provide recommendations for improvements
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document (purchases, warehouses, fleet management, and asset management) by partners and/or contractors (contracts, financial expenses, and project documentation) for the north area office.
- Prepare monthly reports of the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the north area office and work in coordination with the logistics management in improving the performance of the supply chain management according to the analyzed measurements.
- Perform quality control and provide technical assistance to field offices and/or area offices related to the logistics area of the north office.
- Track the daily work of logistics, transportation, and warehouse officers to ensure compliance and timely delivery of services by following the NRC logistics manual, Country Office Standard Operating Procedures, and donor requirements, as appropriate.
- Ensure the timely renewal of short-, medium-, and long-term contracts, supplier performance, and timely payments (according to the terms of the contract) to suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure the timely updating of the asset and inventory registry of the north area office.
- Ensure the effective management of purchases, warehouses, transportation, and asset management at NRC’s north area office.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure effective coordination and integration of logistics activities
- Provide logistical advice, support, and training to NRC staff and their partners to ensure necessary capacity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logistics records, reports, databases, and logistics filling tree
- Review procurement plans for all grants and consolidate these regularly into an area-level procurement plan
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Business Management, Economics Public Administration Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- At least five years of progressive experience in logistics with reputable non-profit international organizations.
- Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
- Strong ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
- Fluency in English language and local languages.
- High proficiency with MS Office – particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in managing and coordinating logistics operations, including procurement, supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution
- Ability to provide effective leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of logistics staff.
