The overall purpose of the role:

This is a paid internship. The DRC Internship Program is designed for last year’s students or fresh graduates of public universities. Through this program, DRC will develop the Interns’ ability in a variety of soft skills, including communication skills, office management, presentation skills, admin, clerical, and other related personal skills through providing mentorship and training. The key objectives of the program are to help the Interns learn the most up-to-date development practices, experience a real work environment, acquire necessary employment skills, create a network of professional contacts, and apply the theories and skills they have learned during their studies in the university.

The Human Resources Intern, in coordination and cooperation with the direct support and supervisory of the HR Unit, is responsible for substantially to following mentioned in the Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Understand standard HR practices, policies, and procedures, and take primary responsibility for running the HR functions according to the DRC Operations Handbook.
• Ensure the presence of up-to-date HR documentation and recordkeeping to ensure effective administration and information management.
• Produce and maintain updated HR and personnel files and regularly update them in soft and hard copies.
• Scan HR-related documents and archive them electronically in an organized manner.
• Collect HR documents and forms from newly hired employees and file the documents as required.

Perform any other related activities as assigned by the HR Unit.

Education/qualifications:

• Last-year students and/or fresh graduates of public universities.
• Possess written and verbal communication skills in Dari/Pashto, English would be an asset;
• Basic computer literacy in MS Office packages;
• A well-organized and proactive approach to work.
