Job Description:
The Reception Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator. She will ensure effective communication with visitors, returnees, refugees, IDPs, and host community comers to the reception center in Kandahar / Takhta Pul District – Camp.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent of this position will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement communication strategies related to the project.
- Collaborate with internal teams, and newcomers and maintain open communication with teams in the field.
- Greet, and welcome Refugees warmly and assist them in a friendly and professional manner.
- Monitor all visitors to the office, and assist visitors by providing directions and accurate information related to UN agencies, and government entities.
- Escort, and direct visitors to the appropriate person and office for services collection, and other support to them.
- Maintain refugees’, and returnees’ records and book reservations, and provide daily, weekly & monthly reports to the program coordinator.
- Maintain a safe, and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain general filing system, and filed all correspondence on a timely basis.
- Perform receptionist duties such as photocopying, and transcribing during meetings, and events.
- Write and produce presentations important for returnees, and press information to the newcomers.
- Prepare and supervise the production of publicity brochures, and handouts that can help returnees, and those thought beneficiaries.
- Provide information on the services available at the camp, welcome returnees, and instruct them on the steps forward.
- Maintain, share, and update information to returnees at the camp.
- Assist, and facilitate other activities assigned by the team.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree e in humanities, preferably in Political Science, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Conflict Management, or International Relations and/or business administration.
- Proven expertise, and experience of working in research, and public welcoming.
- Have an in-depth understanding of clear Speaking, Communication, and Media.
- Experience in writing and producing reports.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Good command of Dari and Pashto languages.
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills and capabilities.
