About the Organization for Health Promotion and Management (OHPM):

OHPM is committed to promoting the lives of communities through the provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education, and development services; conducting training, research, surveys, and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national, and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under-five children).

OHPM was selected by UNICEF and is responsible for delivering the HER (BPHS & EPHS) in Kapisa, Paktika, Helmand & Herat provinces and implementing other vertical projects in Khost, Parwan, Panjshir, Zabul, Nimroz, and Kandahar provinces funded by the UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, WFP, OCHA, according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: Reduce maternal and newborn mortality, Reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition.

Job Description:

  • Ability to provide and send timely  incidence report
  • The security officer is responsible for creating communications content on behalf of an organization, gathering and compiling security information into; reports, presentations, or information bulletins
  • In coordination with other security departments and members, the gathering and compiling of security information into; reports, presentations, or information bulletins
  • Keeping a daily track of security issues at and around the provincial level and establishing a security information contact system in the region for the office, regarding an effective response to safety and security issues and events
  • The timely distribution or presentation of information, bulletins, or reports to members involved
  • Checking and ensuring the validation of information obtained, Maintenance of the office filing system, with new files for every year
  • Periodic inspections and the maintenance and updating of all “Contact” -documentation, of all official vehicles and Radio Rooms
  • To assist in the ensuring safety and security of all OHPM staff members and equipment
  • Whenever necessary, assisting visitors with security-related issues to the department and/or informing, and introducing them to the Security Officer
  • Seek immediate contact with relevant authorities in case of theft, fire, and other incidents/accidents
  • Ensure the daily updating of the relevant Information and notice boards on the movement of personal and security-related issues.
  • Assist in coordinating communication activities and events of the project and partners
  • Assist in conducting awareness-raising campaigns, events, information dissemination workshops, etc. for target groups
  • Undertake sporadic field visits to monitor program implementation and liaise closely with target groups.
  • Participate in donor visits to showcase casing project progress and achievements
  • Take the lead in the dissemination of communication materials to relevant stakeholders
  • Draft case studies and relevant project documents and suggest recommendations on varied issues (as and when required)
  • Organize and hold training and capacity-building sessions for the staff of OHPM as required
  • Join the Program development team in developing the concept notes and proposals and Maintaining the documentation management system (hard copy and on the network)
  • Contribute to team-wide communications and knowledge management, and participate in organization-wide events and discussions on related topics/projects
  • To perform other tasks required by the line manager, or supervisor.
  • Appraisal and contract extension: An appraisal will be performed by the headquarters team on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis as per the OHPM management team’s decision.

Job Requirements:

  • Afghan National
  • The applicant must graduate from a recognized university and should have at least two years’ experience working in humanitarian safety and security with NGO or UN agencies (at any level with technical responsibilities).
  • Must know about incident reporting protocols and experience in report writing.
  • Demonstrate computer skills (Ms. Office Package)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages;
  • Be able to travel to all districts/health facilities as well as outside of the province
