About New Way Social and Development Organization:

New Way Social & Development Organization is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan. The organization is based in Kabul, with programming hubs across the northern and northeastern provinces of the country. The organization strives to empower the vulnerable and marginalized communities suffering from the impacts of war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. Additionally, the Organization is also working on the idea of integrated development, which encompasses socio-economic, cultural, and good governance. Community Empowerment is the core of the Organization’s strategy to engage with grassroots groups and communities to address the root causes of poverty, inequalities, and injustice.

Job Description:

  • Develop and update the provincial work plan and budget for the project activities, in consultation with the project manager and program lead.
  • Provide practical and technical follow-up and monitoring of the entire project activities to ensure the sustainability and impact of the project.
  • Coordinate and manage the project activities in the province, such as training of master trainers, improvement of TVET centers/classes and equipment, and promotion of private sector partnership, by the project work plan, budget, and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government authorities, private sector actors, civil society organizations, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders at provincial and district levels.
  • Ensure that the project integrates cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion in all its activities and outputs.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the project staff, partners, and beneficiaries in the province, such as facilitating training, workshops, meetings, and field visits, preparing, and distributing materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with the donor and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and outcomes of the project activities in the province, using quantitative and qualitative data, indicators, and tools, and report the results and recommendations to the project manager and the technical specialists.
  • Prepare and submit regular and timely reports on the project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned in the province, using the required formats and templates, and by the reporting schedule and guidelines.
  • Participate in project coordination and learning events, such as team meetings, webinars, conferences, and trainings, and share provincial perspectives, insights, and feedback.
  • Communicate and engage with the donor, the government, the TVET institutions, the private sector, and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure their participation, collaboration, and feedback in the project activities, and to disseminate and advocate the project results and impact.
  • They were submitting project deliverables to the Project Manager and ensuring that they adhered to quality standards.
  • Track project costs to meet budget and coordinate with the Project Manager
  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings at the provincial level.
  • We are developing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Project Manager/Program Department.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, economics, or a related field. Knowledge of project management is an asset.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in managing Education/TVET projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities and equipment, and private sector support, especially in the context of Afghanistan.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate a diverse team of staff, and partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and cope with challenges.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and quality reports for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant project management software applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to the project sites in Parwan Province.
