Job Description:
- Conducting consultations in out-patient and in-patient departments.
- Conduct daily ward rounds for support to MDs, observation, and review of patients.
- Performing night duties as per the department’s schedule.
- Having professionalism, medical ethics, and caring during communication with colleagues and patients.
- Providing training to residents, medical officers, and junior doctors.
- Consulting head of the department as supervisor before and during facing complicated cases of over credentialing cases.
- Attend to emergency cases when necessary and be on 24 hrs call.
- Ensure complete daily documentation of patient case notes/files.
- Maintain regular contacts and coordination with heads of other departments to ensure harmonization of patients’ management.
- Review and develop appropriate policies and procedures for patients’ health care to formulate best practice guidelines based on EPHS.
- Ensure timely availability of required support services in the process of treating patients, particularly when referred to other specialists.
- Liaise with other consultants on handling specialized cases in the provision of patients’ health care.
- Prepare timely and accurate medical reports, audits and mortality reviews.
- Ensure medical records activities are effectively implemented.
- Ensure effective management of GYN/OBS surgical wards and GYN/OBS OPD clinic.
- Observe and comply with environmental health, occupational safety and Infection Prevention measures and regulations.
- Availability in the night duties as scheduled.
- Observe any situation for preventing infections.
- Consultation of Obstetrics & Gynecology patients.Performing regular physical examinations on patients to diagnose various gynecological conditions.
- Recording and updating patients’ medical histories.
- Advising patients on suitable birth control options.
- Performing various diagnostic tests on patients, which include Pap smears, STD tests, ultrasounds, hormone profile blood tests, colposcopies, and endometrial biopsies.
- Explaining test results, diagnoses, , and Determine and implement appropriate courses of treatment
- Performing standards of care for common women’s health-related issues and illnesses, especially antenatal and postnatal care, and provide family planning, surgeries and gynecological procedures on patients, such as cervical, dilation and curettages, IUDs, pelvic laparoscopies, cesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients’ health and deliver babies safely.
- Referring patients to other healthcare specialists as needed.
- Educating patients on reproductive health issues and disease prevention
- Monitor and ensure compliance with clinical evidence-based guidelines while treating patients all the time
- Be able to work as a primary care doctor (general physician) as and when needed /dealing with a wide range of patients
- Have the ability to develop positive rapport with patients and families to foster the physician/patient relationship.
- Eager to actively participate in continuing medical education program inside the Hospital / delivers case presentations and raise medical discussions.
- Take care of equipment assigned to in the Hospital including Computers, desks, chairs, statoscopes and ensure their proper usage.
- Respect all rules and regulations of the Hewad Organization.
- Make all necessary efforts to stay updated with emerging medical/Obstetric knowledge and skills.
- Consult with, or provide consulting services to other physicians.
- Provide on job Training for junior doctors and assistants.
- Support the Head of the Department in day-to-day activities.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by Supervisor.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly rosters.
- Any other duties assigned by Supervisors or HEWAD leadership.
Job Requirements:
- Graduated from a post-medical specialty in the related field.
- At least 3 years of work experience in in the related field.
- Must be fluent in English and also in local languages.
- Experience practicing medicine.
- Expert diagnostic skills.
- Trustworthy and compassionate character.
- Good communication skills.
